Experience as management consultant, business developer, innovator and adviser to the global metals and mining sector. Over more than 25 years I have advised over 50 clients in over 50 countries. I developed specialist B2B training for Steel Business Briefing (SBB) as well as developing the firm’s Research and Consulting businesses into a significant and growing part of the firm.
Prior to SBB I held senior positions with Atkins Plc in the UK and Hatch Associates of Canada. In these roles I gained in-depth experience of strategic, due diligence, market and feasibility studiesincluding interview and research techniques, information synthesis, validation and presentation.
I am an innovator with exceptional divergent thinking capabilities. This means I am good at seeing possibilities in a complex situation and guiding and facilitating teams to achieve consensus on options.
I have solid experience in the design of events, whether they be strategic in nature, or are general workshops, or B2B training.
I am skilled at resolving complex issues relating to strategy, strategy implementation, business development, key account development and marketing in product and services-led businesses. Much of my work has involved global teams often in different timezones and I have developed the skills to get the best from diverse teams that rarely if ever meet face to face.
I have a BSc (Hons) in Metallurgy and Materials from the University of Birmingham, an MBA from London Business School, and a MA in Screenwriting from Bournemouth University.
I use my combination of industrial, consulting and training skills to make a difference to those involved with the steel and raw materials sector.
